I would expect they are probably at RD1500 a month starting out, more or less, based on what I paid in Golds Gym a couple of years back.

Then there is always Club Mambuiche on carr turistica, RD25 a visit. :)

i always use vip fitness when i am in santiago . it is located in the rafael vidal.

i guess i payd 3500 a month.

the atmosphere is nice and i recommend a private-trainer, they will kick you in the ass if you are a bit lazy :)

Check out Golds. I expect they are probably up to RD1800 at least by now.

However, if you already got a program just pick one of the local cheap gyms. At the end of the day, iron is just iron. I should know, I've been lifting weights since 1986. :)

Golds gym in plaza Internacional is between 1,200 and 1,600 per month, depending on payment terms. There is a signup fee as well where they have regular promotions and you can negotiate it down I think. Way bigger and better than VIP Fitness.

1200 a month is pretty comparable to what you'd pay for a Gold's Gym - level facility here in the states. And it is a very nice club, considering. Not the worst deal ever.

If you live in Santiago why not join Amoprosan??? They have a wonderful gym fully equipped, sauna and swimming pool plus gun club.

Good Afternoon, If I remember correctly it was 18,000 to join and like 600 a month. The gym equipment is old/rebuilt/handmade, no eliptical machines, the shooting is airgun but Olympic level, it is for small business owners and you need three recomendations. The pool is very nice and the people are very cordial. There is a small snack bar, tennis, basketball, baseball, pool, bingo, and a variety of special shows on the weekends mostly big names like Johnny Ventura that costs extra.

VIP Fitness is about 1300 a month. BIOFIT (in front of PUCMM on Estrella Sadhala) is 1400 a month and have a good christmas deal as well. Gold's I think is now about 1900 a month.

VIP is 1700 to sign up and 1650 a month, it's tiny and i think the majority of what you pay for is spinning and tai bo classes. lockers are literally like 5 lockers.

My girlfriend used to be a member of biofit, and a few months ago joined gold's gym. There's no comparison. Gold's is awesome and huge (that's what she said...) and they recently purchased new equipment.

VIP is close to century plaza, and, at least for her, is not too accessible.

Gold's is nice. But not for serious hardcore lifters. I worked out there once and was deadlifting and the trainers told me to stop. Mind you I was not dropping or slamming the bar.

wow, Chip, 26 years of lifting weights. Post a picture. Would like to see what all those years of working out has done for you.

Good Afternoon, I think that what you want to accomplish should be the first consideration and then decide what gym would fit your needs. Powerlifting like Frank, bodybuilding, aerobic, cardiovascular, socialization etc. I was a member of the gym at the plaza next to Supermercado la Fuente a few years ago and it was very good for the price. The gym in the plaza across from UTESA was pretty good and I think it has a 50 pesos a workout deal. By the way a couple of years ago Chip volunteered to plant trees at the orphanage and in appearance he looked like a very strong man.
