Got to enjoy this performance Tuesday night at the Dominican Fiesta Hotel.
While Jazz is not in my top three genres, it sure beat the heck out of the reggaeton in the streets that night. She has quite a voice and I can listen to anything musical with a great saxophone player.
Much of the seating was literally in the pool....or better, on the pool. They actually constructed seating via a giant erector set in the pool and then laid down plywood with a ramp into the pool area. I will post some photos on my return to the US...as I did forget to bring a USB cable with me.
It was a fundraiser for the Fundacion Heart Care Dominicana.
Point of this post is that the Calendar of Events is a great place to check for upcoming things to do...especially after you have seen the zona colonial/conde more times than most Dominicans will see in their lifetime.
Would have also liked to go to the Winter Wonderland in Santo Domingo....but since I came to get away from all that, it made no sense to me to then pay to go and see it. Sort of like Dominicans watching all the tourists flock to the sun as they scurry to find shade.
