Has anyone ever seen rhubarb in DR? Ruibarbo in Spanish?

That used to be my favorite vegetable, was wondering if its known here.

Only once, baked in a rhubarb and apple tart - but it had been brought over from Germany. Sorry.

Now my mouth is watering for rhubarb and apple crumble with custard.

I once had a slice of rhubard and strawberry pie.I took one bite and threw the rest out.
I did not like the combination.

As far as I know it's a summer vegetable. I wanted to eat it at my birthday as a child but it was hard to get or too expensive in April.

I don't believe they grown it in the DR. It needs a colder climate to thrive.

How sad, No Rhubarb, no Parsnips, no Runner Beans, no Swede Turnips, no Granny Smiths, no Bramlys and they say they can grow anything in the mountains. Whoś kidding whom?

Rhubarb grows here in Minnesota where it is COLD. I don't think it would grow in the D.R.
