We are staying in RSJ & our niece is getting married in Punta Cana mid January. Checking with google shows rte. 5 & 4 to PC. Is it really necessary to go all the way down to almost Santa Domingo then across to get there? Also is it safe enough for just the 2 of us by ourselves?

Thanks for any advice!

Maybe easier just to drive to Samana and then fly. Much shorter drive and a couple of flights a day.

Would be interested to know more about the "couple of flights a day"... Are they from the Arroyo Barril/Samana to Punta Cana ?. What company would that be with ?. Thank you for any additional info. Happy New year !

P.S. sorry, I have no info for the OP other than the drive on the new hwy to the south and then the hwy east to PC, a good way to see the country and the new roads are quite good. Driving time 4 + hours.

THe drive isn't that hard... just over an hour to the toll road and another hour to the airport.... follow your nose from there.

Frank12 just did it a couple of weeks ago.
