Subject: FW: Heart Machine-- Good Demo

I just saved a life. Watch the video and see if you can also. Then
pass it on to everyone you know.

just wanted to pass this along

We have all walked by the Red Cross sign in airports and other places
indicating where a heart machine is located. Do you know what is in
them and how to use it? I did not. Try this video and see what you
think.
If you pick the wrong choice----the man dies----choose wisely. You
may save a life. I Just watched this video and was impressed, so I'm
sending it to those on my mailing list with the hope that it'll save
lives (maybe mine, yours or someone you love)!

ha! life saved!

i have never seen them thingies. certainly not here and not even in poland. but we did learn CPR at school, as well as other useful things as how to throw grenades...
in any case, i know that it's 30 presses on the heart, two breaths. for kids 15 presses and 2 breaths. it's most likely there will be no technology to help you so learn the basics!

I was surprised in the demo there was no mention of the breaths, I was waiting to see that part in the instructions.

damn... I thought he was just drunk, figured he'd wake up sooner or later. LOL

Actually, there was just a news report over the weekend about a TSA officer saving a guy with CPR and a defibrulator. I guess the TSA is not as totally useless as I thought.

i think breathing is necessary in some cases, like drowning or strangulation. and from what i understand they are a must when it comes to CPR on children. so better set your mind to pump/breath sequence.

maybe mods can move it to general or off topic...

I'm impressed with the instructional technology employed in these things - couldn't be more simple to understand and use....the only thing that's missing is the part about making sure the patients airway is clear !! An airway blockage should be checked before starting compressions - or that's at least the old standard...
ABC's - Check Airway, then Breathing, then Circulation (heart rhythm)
