So they are already tearing down the retaining wall in 'The Hole' on Pedro Clisante as it started buckling shortly after they back filled between the Coldwell Banker/Amber Guardian building. Obviously they built the wrong type of support and now they have to completely start again! Guess they should have put in angled support columns that were anchored into the ground...but I am no constructor. Makes me laugh though!

well Im no specialist in construction either but that hole seems strange to me. Quite small, so not much space for cars.
And lower than the street so I guess it'll turn into pool when it rains? What do U think?

it wouldnt fill be with confidence leaving my car in hole with no supporting walls

AND the flood rains that happen that have been getting worse? You want me to park my car WHERE and live WHERE?

The NEW drainage system at the end of Pedro Clisanti is failing. (That never worked anyway.) The road where the NEW drainage system at the curve on the east end was never fixed and is a HUGH .... big time... mess and is now taking the new drainage walls down. But don't despair; if you look up and down the new system you will see that the erosion has been filling it in since day one.

The road, curve has become almost ... well my big JEEP has trouble since we are bounced around like toys in a shake up toy as we CRAWL along. THIS IS a main road for about 1/4 of Sosua.

NICE JOB................................................................ NOT!

What we have here in this "Pit of Despair" are Three Terrors: 1st. We have a Fire Swamp at the bottom back-end, facing north. 2nd. Near the front, along the street, we have a flame spurt--luckily, there's a popping sound preceding each spurt so that people can step back and avoid being singed by hot flames that shoot up--illuminating the night sky. 3rd. At the bottom of the Pit, at its core center, there is "lightning sand"--it swallows everything including cars, trucks, wigs, costume jewelry, high heels, condoms, and rodents of all sizes.

It's not called the Pit of Despair for nothing.

Sidewalk Restored. Finally.

I don't know if they are accomplishing anything of note in the "hole", but the sidewalk has been restored. No more having to choose beween breaking a leg or ankle or getting run over by a car or moto because you are walking in the street.

The restored sidewalk is better, and wide, than the original.

Kudos to whoever is responsible for getting this done.

Let me tell you about this Black Hole...as you walk down Pedro Clisante oblivious to your surroundings, and you get within close range of the Black Hole, you experience a buffering effect (due to the Black Hole's gravity). It increases the closer you get. People don't realize neither the strength nor the gravitational pull of the Black Hole, because, well, let's face it, most people walking down Pedro Clisante at night are so inebriated that they are no longer on this planet. Most people do not even realize the gravity-free zone around the Black Hole is artificial.

Slipping inside the Black Hole (before the sidewalk was repaired) one was lost sometimes up to three days as one tries to navigate out of it's gravitational pull. Fortunately, I was only lost for a few days before being pulled out of the Black Hole and rescued---CPR was needed, and then heart defibrillators were used as well. People don't realize how big, how strong, and how over-whelming the Black Hole can be. People also don't realize how much they are drawn into the Black Hole--an abyss from which no one can escape. I know, I've been lost in the hole many, many times, over the years--going back to the summer of 78--and yet i keep getting drawn back into it...it's become a sort of sanctuary of mine.

Some things are just bigger and stronger than us...The Black Hole is one of these things.
