    Default US coins in the Dominican Republic

    Since USD is widely accepted in DR, I was wondering if they also accept quarters, or if it is limited to the paper bills.

    NO Change is accepted, not legal tender.
    Were you actually thinking of tipping in quarters, bring $1 bills.

    I guess that is why I get UK pound sometimes as changes. I have 2 pounds and few other currency somewhere in my house.

    My husband works at a bank here and you can sell them to some banks but at much lower cost.
