From today's Sosua News:

[h=5]The Dominican Music Museum has more than 34,000 national music recordings collected. It's music from 1926 to the present from the Caribbean and Latin American region. The Ministry of Culture of the Dominican Republic in cooperation with the cultural observatory has restored from the music archives, recordings and concerts since 1947 and they are now digitized.[/h] [h=5]Joseito Mateo[/h]
[h=5]The digital copies are not only music, but also eyewitness reports, documentaries and music videos. More than 300 digital books, 138 of them in PDF format, with 60,000 photographs are digitized by students and professionals from the music industry. The Music Museum, in collaboration with the National Archives, will create a virtual space where the public through the Internet will get access to the collections. They also produce a series of music CDs from the '50s with recordings of soloists and orchestras from the Dominican Republic. These unique CD's will be for sale in the museum and on the Internet so that fans of the 'Creole pop music from antiquity' can enjoy this music.[/h]
