Has anyone visited the Centro Salesiano (monastery) just southwest of Jarabacoa or the Ram?rez Coffee Factory just outside of town? Does either offer a tour or anything of interest for a tourist?

Ramirez has tours.

I believe the monks make bread in the monastery.

Ramirez has indeed tours. Just go to the factory and on your right is a small coffee bar or walk to the office and aks for a tour. Tour is in Spanish but interesting and costs 100 Pesos
