    Default Inverter needed

I finally decided to buy an inverter. Just need it for my laptop and modem.
How big of an inverter would I need and any idea on the costs?

Amazon.com: Cobra CPI 480 400-Watt 12-Volt DC to 120-Volt AC Power Inverter with 5-Volt USB Output: Car Electronics

I think this should be enough for a laptop and a modem. Don't know how many batteries though. 1 or 2? Each around 4,000 DOP?

If you go for the heavier one like JDJones says, make sure its connected properly so that it doesn't catch fire like ours did

    What about an UPS?

My advice would be to get a 1KW 12V inverter and two good quality batteries. If you can get a sine wave inverter, better still.
    Ditto on this suggestion.

An Inverter is way-over-kill, just a high capacity UPS should be fine.
You can always tap into it and add a bigger battery.
