Orange internet connection in La Romana, Higuey and B?varo-Punta Cana has been down since about 8am today. The signal has been terrible, sometimes almost nonexistent, for months, and now this. :mad:

I was told 4-8 hours to repair when I called at 11am, but a friend was told "within 24 hours".

When Orange is "good" they are still bad. Get Claro if you can.

Well, we are looking for alternatives, but we were discouraged when we heard that Tricom's nearest office was in La Romana - is that true?
We considered one of Claro's telephone/cable/internet fijo packages but we can't commit to 18 months as might be leaving in just over a year.

They have 2 offices here, Plaza San Juan and the main office is in Plaza Mayoral.

I have a flybox from Orange. An absolut pain in the asss .....
How they dare to charge those fees for an absolut shiiity service?

Was online today with Orange stick in Bavalo / Punta Cana waiting for my return flight.
Was unusable, signal was strong.
Extremly slow, looses connection every 10 minutes and then needs 5 retries to reconnect, many DNS requests fails so web pages are do not open.
Possible not enough bandwith/too many smartphone users.
Writing with WLAN now.
