Can anyone suggest any decent hotels in Santiago for under $70? I am traveling to Santiago next weekend and have only seen rates at $95 dollars and more. Why so expensive? Can anyone recommend something that is not being shown In Hotwire, Expedia etc. thank you.

Do a search here on DR1 or go to Reviews of Hotels, Flights and Vacation Rentals - TripAdvisor. There are numerous hotels that fit your close to or under $70.00 criteria....Platino, Los Jardines, etc.

B in Santiago
I always stay at Hotel Aloha Sol on Calle Del Sol in the center of Santiago. Call them and request the "simple" room. It is $50 per night and includes breakfast. It is a small, but comfortable and clean room with a queen sized bed. Very good service there as well. Here is their website: Hotel Aloha Sol
