From today's Sosua News. Most interesting to me was that the person named to this new position is someone who has a good track record for tourism promotion.

[h=5]The Deputy Minister of Tourism for the Province of Puerto Plata Mr. C?sar Jos? De los Santos, has appointed Mr. Lorenzo Sancassani as the director of the newly established tourist office (for the province of Puerto Plata). Mr Lorenzo Sancassani is known for his efforts in promoting tourism on the North Coast, especially in Cabarete. He is the organizer of many events such as sports tournaments and the famous jazz festival. Lorenzo Sancassani promised to make every effort to make tourism more attractive on the north coast (Maim?n, Puerto Plata, Sos?a and Cabarete).[/h]
[h=5]Lorenzo Sancassani[/h] [h=5]He also promised to review his policy after the first hundred days in office.[/h]

Is that because all the bribe money was already handed out to the past administration for the new cruise ship terminal.

That could be a part of it, but he has Cabarete and that is quite something in itself. I am sure he knows what he is up against in his own locale.

As for his focus, it does make sense that Puerto Plata would be his main point of interest. There is a long road to recovery there.

Thats not what the Minister said at the last meeting .

Big effort to link the east and west sectors.... fill the wasteland in between.

Easy to say when the turkey is already in the oven.

Many of us have confidence in you

Good luck to Lorenzo - a fine man for the job!
Have come to know you over time and think you will do a great job. You have worked hard to highlight all the things that make Cabarete and the North Coast so amazing, including the many wonderful people that live there. All the best!
