Was Medina happy that he was going to continue to get cheap oil with the DR deal with Venesula and was he really sending his sincere wishes to Maduro. I think it is the former. There was no real doubt as to the next "President" of Venesula. I feel sorry for the people of this nation. They are being held hostage by a continued dictatorship.

Are the synapses in your brain connecting? If you have carried even the least amount of research in to the Venezuelan election you would know that it was a near impossibility for the opposition to win. When the current government (Bolivarian Socialist party) uses all the states resources, intimidation that includes murder, openly tells the population that the ballots are not secret and they will take measures against those that vote against them, control the TV and radio, dump ballots receipts in the garbage....etc , use the Military against the constitution, control the election commission and on and on. I suggest that probably the votes for the opposition were even greater and when you can control the electronic voting software because you have the passwords you can make anything happen. It is possible that Maduro won a majority of votes but to call it a fair election would just prove the stupidity of the person saying it was fair.

why don'y you go take a dump in a hat, saunders? who asked you? look dude, i have better things to do with my life than reading minutiae about election conditions in Venezuela. Jimmy Carter has been an observer of elections in that country, and speaks very highly of the process. i will take his opinions any day over some right wing nut who has nothing better to do with his day than listen to Fox News, and be a general busybody about other people's countries. guess what; i have people who enjoy my company, so i have better things to do than spend my life obsessing over the affairs in other places, which do not alter my life. what now? the elections in Venezuela are going to disrupt daily movements in Kamloops? get a life.

Jimmy Carter and OAS were not allowed to send observers to this election, I don't listen to or watch FOX. Nobody forced you to make a comment on this thread , but since you did, you got a response. An CASTRO/Chavez fan like yourself feels the ends justify the means and it doesn't matter if things aren't democrat and fair as long as the revolution moves on. I disagree.

And another one bites the dust.....is it so impossible to stay On Topic???? So impossible to stop the name-calling and insults????

The OP asked opinions about Danilo and Maduro's win. None of the responses are DR related at all.
