Yes, from time to time. There was one recently in SD that Cris Colon organized.
Personally, I've met about 10 DR1ers in person so far.

We had lunch at "IKEA" in Santo Domingo, and many came to a "Book Signing" in Sosua last month.
My "Door" is always open here in "SD", and several DR1ers come to have coffee, conversation, and some, a good cigar.
I am hoping for a "Pot Luck" dinner later this year.
When I travel to the North Coast, I usually meet some DR1ers there.
