Besides both countries being "Catholic" I observed something here in the barrio that the Irish are also famous for.
On Saturday, Bristo a guy that lives down the street was drinking and decided to trim some branches that had grown too close to the electrical cables, at 10.52 am our lights went out and so did his, RIP.
Yesterday they had the funeral, normally when somebody dies they have a 9 day wake which means no music either.
Now Bristo loved his rumba so his family and friends carried the coffin to his favorite drinking holes in the barrio and everybody was dancing, laughing and crying.
Noticed that the Dominicans have that in common with the Irish wake, except the Dominicans dance better.
