Racism in the dominican republic

Many are aware of racism between Haiti and Dominican Republic but this thread is about racism by ex-pats directed to dominicans. Yesterday a thread I was contributing was closed because of the following:

"Another thing I have not noticed much calling of what is being said by it's correct name. That name being racism. Try (in any semi-civilised country such as the US or England) saying "How do you know when a black (the post I am quoting from had said dominican instead of black) man is lying?......Lips moving" and see where that gets you".

This is an extract from a thread which served mainly to rubbish dominicans. I thought I was making a valid point and I was substituting black for dominican to make a point. The point being that many ex-pats on this forum use racist language against dominicans with impunity. Perhaps now this post is started to address this issue it will not be closed.

That's right even though it's DR related that and religion are against DR1 rules unless it's in the off topic forum which unfortunately the OP doesn't have enough posts to see this thread if moved. ufff that was a mouth full :)

Some topics do not belong in forums in my opinion. Racism and religion are at the top of the list. They go nowhere other than senseless rants and "keyboard warfare" Why people engage in fighting back and forth behind a computer screen, its weird and cowardly. Its worse than watching online porn!

well, les, the first matter of order is that Dominican is not a race.

I agree that dominicans are such are not a race but are 90% non white. I do not understand why hundreds of posts are allowed which rubbish an entire nationality and a reasonable challenge to this is not allowed

The site forums have rules, of which were there before you approached the subject. When one doesn't follow the rules, we end up living in a lawless society. :ermm:I guess we kinda already live in a lawless society here, dont we??

let me see if i get this construction right. 90% of Dominicans are non white, so if someone makes a generalistic statement against Dominicans, it must be racist? what if he intends his remarks to apply equally to the 10% whites?
