[h=5]Last Wednesday, 3 July, the 20th anniversary of the Rotary Club of Sos?a was celebrated. The Rotary Club of Sos?a was founded on June 30, 1993 for the development of Sos?a. They do a lot of charitable work for the benefit of the poor people of the Sos?a area. They provide free textbooks and other school supplies to the students of the school 'Escuela Gregrio Luper?n' in Sos?a. The Club organizes an annual Christmas party with lots of presents for children from poor families. Moreover, they have held several marathon TV broadcasts to help the victims of the earthquake disaster in Haiti and for expensive operations for several patients suffering from cancer. They also organize sporting events for the youth. Through mediation of the Rotary Club, the Sos?a firefighters are now equipped with modern equipment and also some first aid stations have medical equipment.
During the celebration Benny Katz was elected new president of the Rotary Club. Benny Katz is a descendant of the Jewish community in Sos?a. Benny Katz is also appointed by the mayor Ilana Neumann as director for technical matters.[/h]
[h=5]Benny Katz[/h] [h=5]In that position he repaired the school bus, the Garbage truck and some other trucks of the municipality. After the repairs, the pupils and students could be transported again for free (paid by the municipality) to school. Mr. Katz said in his speech that he will do everything within his powers to help the poor of Sos?a.[/h]
