Water Supply In Greater Sosua Area To Be Improved

The representatives of the water company (CORAAPLATA) Francisco Javier Garc?a and Carlos Troche and the Director of Tourism for the North Coast Lorenzo Sancassani have recently visited the capital.

There they spoke with president Danilo Medina about the problems of daily water supply in Cabarete and Sos?a. In the tourist area of Sos?a (El Batey) there is no serious shortage of water. Most hotels and restaurants have a water supply tank for several days. But in the surrounding neighborhoods as Charamicos, Sos?a Abajo, Maranatha etc. there is often no water for several days. The president agreed that a reliable water supply is essential in an area so dependent on tourism. He told them he will make 10 million pesos available to solve the problems with the aqueducts and water pumps.

Danilo also paid a lightning visit to ProCab in Cabarete and declared that the roads should be asphalted. Subsequently, the residents held a meeting with beloved Mayor Canoa at which it was agreed that the work would be done on the condition that the residents would pay to prepare the roads, which was done at considerable cost. At the time of writing, several weeks later, the promised asphalt had not arrived and all the expensive preparation work is being undone by the traffic and rain.

The moral of the story is that just because Danilo says something should be done, it doesn't mean it will be!

My understanding is that the money has run out in Pro Cab and yes we did pay significant amounts for the paving and we are left with nothing!!! Could it be another Canoa distribution problem? Hmmmmmmm

Anyone puts stock in Dominican political promises? btw Ken, how is the noise abatement movement going regarding Pedro
Clisante? Sounds loud as ever from here. Shocking with all the backing you posted from local city groups that they could not get anything done.

water has e-coli in order to make citizens strong and immune to diseases. how dare you sabotage the government by getting sick?!
