Would there be a bus service of some sort or is there an other means of accomplishing the above. Some direct flights go into Samana as opposed to stop overs leading into Puerto Plata

there is a guagua twice a day from POP to samana (and back, of course). leaving morning and afternoon from POP, not sure about coming back. normal guagua, seating 15 or so and able to fit 10 more, like it's done here. sometimes it has a little trailer in the back for bags, boxes and other luggage.

Thanks dv8. In the afternoon the guagua leaves at 2pm sharp. I know because it's just in front of my place.

Passes through Sosua about 7, so must leave POP 6:30 at the latest.

Take a bus rather than a guagua. There's one that leaves Samana City everyday in the early afternoon. Costs about 500-600 pesos, last I rode it. I've ridden it and it's comfortable....better than taking the chance of riding a guagua and having somebody's chicken(s) sitting on your lap the whole trip!!!!!!

In March I took the 10:30 bus from the park. It is located across from the first excusion boats, in between Kim's whale watching and banco popular on the popular side. It left at 11:00. They yell out pop and sit for a while. There is another bus that leaves 2:00-230.
