Selling or buying car private (license plates)

Hi,
When selling or buying an auto privately, do the license plates go with the auto or are new plated needed?

they go with the car. matricula is what needs to be changed. only when you buy a brand new car it receives exhibition plates and you get new ones later on.

no worries. we just bought a new old car last month :) and sold as well. give time for matricula transfer, mine took few weeks.

I'm curious, when you sold, was there a way to make sure your buyer did his matricula transfer ?

How can dealers make the matricula transfer so much faster? I got mine overnight when bought from a dealer.
