NO, they buy crap from Venezuela or Colombia for their tracks--when they feel like it. Most of the "tracks" here are unusable...FIFA closed down the Olympic Stadium nine years ago. 40 years ago, I was part of a group that hosted Pel? and the NY Cosmos on that field...what a freaking shame.

Modern Astroturf is a highly engineered product and very expensive. It's not just a green rug on top of concrete. It starts around a half $million to make a sports field in the US meet current safety standards.

P in B: Yes, and I must apologize!! I was thinking "tracks" not grassy areas....but the answer is the same NO....not here.

Here the kids know "astroturf" and talk about it as material for the 400 meter tracks....and again NO, not here.
