Delta 405 RT... Good or Bad?
In 2006 I used to fly Delta on that route multiple times for $255 US RT (taxes included). Then they dropped the route.........my, my how airfares to the DR have changed since then!
Considering that jetblue used to be cheapest in the past is very good price, Jetblue is now arround 500.00
I just paid over $600 on United, EWR-SDQ, for late December travel. Doesn't even include a suitcase, $25 more for the first one.
westjet usually has very good prices, but sometimes very crazy price, I saw PUJ-YOW-PUJ for almost 1,000.00 for last month, I got for Sept 1 way 298.00 westjet and 364.00 one way Air Canada.
My last trip WestJet wanted almost $600 one way - AC Rouge for $330.
Whole trip - WJ down , AC back was still $600+ - killed me...
This is for late Sept - POP and AZS were about equal..... ya gotta fish for 'em

Yes, its crazy, sometimes I get very good prices with stop in USA, but i dont have american visa and when i travel i have to do it Direct, I applyed to try go get the visa and was rejected.
My bf is canadian so I travel frecuently to canada, arround 3 times a year, I can not pay 170.00 dollars every time Im going to visit canada for transit visa in USA, so not saving there, better go direct, Imgine 583.00+170 = its 753.00 not a big deal, better get a direct flight. lol.
Lots of direct flights.... Air Canada, WestJet, SunWing and others.... about $500-600 is a normal fare
Punta Cana, 2hrs far from where I live, Samana 2 Hrs too, the closer airport is LRM and flights are seasonal, will be great is some of those earline open at least 1 flight per week in SDQ.
Westjet has flighs in winter but only bring canadians to take cruise ship in Santo Domingo, in the past there was flights to Toronto, long ago
