Hello,

Once again Luthafer hangs in the balance of my wonderful life!...My girl told me today that the landlord is not giving any of our 3 deposits back until they know that the electricity issue is fixed, solved and paid...They are the ones that asked us to leave because of the electric issue in the first place after the electric company asked them if they are on our electric, and I bet are the reason for the problems which the electric company has also expressed as mentioned!!, how can they keep or really rob me by doing this!!! I need that money, My money to move! And I just shelled out 20,000 for our new apartment and now have no money!!! I'm totally busted! and still need a truck although the new apartment is about 4 blocks over..

That said and I'm pleading for help, does anyone have a closed truck, even open I guess.. that I can rent from them but will pay in the first week of next Month?? I will sign a paper binding this agreement, no problem and I'm willing to pay 5,000 even if I can just borrow a truck that would help us to get moved. We don't have much, fridge, stove-that Barbie doll style, dining room set of 6 chairs, full size bed, sofa,. TV, a few small tables, computer stand and very important, birds which are divided up between 2 flight cages, 1 around 3 feet high, 6 feet long, the other about 7 feet tall, 3-4 feet wide, and 4 other cages that are small, can carry by hand, just a fragile situation with those guys..

Truck size is not too important, just as long I can get the flight cages on and my fridge? You cannot lay a Fridge down, nor the flight cages, so I would need to have close to 7 feet of height clearance or close to it, 6 feet would be fine?I can pack a truck very well, can always figure something out if its close to what I need or just make a few runs..I?m not in any rush really, but I have already put the electric on at the other place and ordered my Internet to be active there as well in about 5 days?I can?t get jammed up paying 2 electric bills, so I would like to move asap or at least in a few days..

Any help, ideas, would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank You So Very Much!!

Anthony

Take it to the Justice of the peace or Fiscal and plead your case, the Landlord will have to justify his. Nothing to lose.

DR ?Laws? favor the tenant!
You pay, you STAY!
Get a lawyer.
They can?t just throw you out, as long as you pay the rent!
If you pay the rent as required according to your signed contract, it is nearly impossible to evict you.
?Man Up? Dude!!!!!!

Sorry, your missing the point...We want to move as well, landlord is an idiot for a few reasons, theft of our electric and we have a major bee issues!! 8PM on cue, my apartment begins to get swarmed by bees...I'm killing 45-60 every night, and my dog got stung once again last night...I plan to go after those knuckleheads later, I know they cannot keep my money! Its a timing thingy, I need to get into my new place since everything is in motion now..So, I just need some help with a truck for now which I will appreciate very much..Those 2 idiots below me will have their day with me later...

Thanks again,

Anthony

This is why in DR you always live out your depositos. The good have to suffer with the bad here. I had a very reasonable landlord when I was renting, but still stopped paying my rent after informing I would move out in two months.

Brother, and the world turns...In Santiago, often I see small box trucks with a taxi medallion on the roof. Maybe you can call "Tu Taxi", or another service, and ask for their rates.

Anthony, Tecni Taxi (809-320-7621) runs Tecni Carga. They have closed and pick-up trucks and are available for a lot less than 5000 pesos - especially for a short move. Have your girlfriend call and ask about prices. It might be low enough that you can afford to pay outright.

I used them last July for a closed truck to transport a load from Maim?n to San Marcos for the dental clinic and was charged 2000 pesos for truck, driver and loader. It might be a little more now, but almost certainly not 3000 more!

Yea, we agreed that we would not be paying for this Month, great! they still have 2 from me...I already told my girl, then we are living out 2 more Months but at our new place! I will NOT turn the apartment over to them and they have no keys, changed the locks when we moved in..So, its either this which I hope will pressure them, or evict me but I won't be here anyways...I hope they have some kind of law here if they decide to enter, don't know...Thing is, we did nothing wrong here at all..They got ****ed off because the electric company thinks they are stealing our electric and I agree! Damn people...I'm really screwed right now since I had to use my last money for the other place....I just hope my temper does not get the best of me, but its been getting there...I'm so tired of the problems here

And if I asked them once, I asked a million times, move their damn street light from above my balcony..There must be a few Bumble Bee Nests around here, they are attracted to light..So, at 8PM on the dot, every night, we start to get swarmed by bees! killing at least 45 a night...I actually go to the roof and swing the light to the back..Sure enough, the jerk puts it back! and he knows damn well why I move it! I would love to give him a bag of those bees after a week, but ALIVE!! I got stung a few time, my girl, dog and I lost 2 birds!!! but of course you cannot prove it was from a bee sting..How do I know? both times I found dead bees in my bird room...With Bumble Bees, they are the few that will die after stinging...

Anyways, I'm getting close for this turning into a very bad situation...only so much I will allow somebody to push me! I also advised them that (My Girl) Antonia may be allergic to bees, puffed up a lot with only one sting last week and its not like I can call 911, they just laugh at you and hang up...

Thanks Mauricio for your post! see how this plays out hopefully on Monday..Going to call the electric company to see why they have not come back for more testing last week as they said they would..

Okay, Antonia called, price is 1,800 pesos with 2 guys to move (Excellent) and I need all the help I can get with my back issues..Still, the problem is that I'm busted...I was counting on getting some of my money back from the landlord (20,000 from the 30,000)...No idea what I can do except move this on my own walking...Anyone have a hand-truck or floor dolly I can borrow?? I'm in Puerto Plata between Calle/street 4/5 just down the road from Jose/Luis supermarket...

Shoot me now, don't wait until we get home!

Thanks!

Anthony

I'm with M555 - I want to hear more about the new bed!!! AND, has it been christened? Anthony (AKA Joe, apparently) spent so much time and space in the previous-and-now-closed posting talking about the paranormal christening of his daughter, and goodness knows that Anthony and Antonia spent enough time and energy christening that borrowed bed from the sound of things, so what about the new bed?
