From today's Sosua News:

The annual art exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (Museo de Arte Moderno) under the name 'Bienal Nacional de Artes Visuales' is the most important art event in Latin America. The Museum of Modern Art exists for 72 years and this Bienal Nacional is now being held for the 27th time. All artists from throughout the country may submit artwork for this prestigious exhibition.

An international jury decides about which pieces of art are to be exhibited. Only four artists from the province of Puerto Plata are allowed to exhibit their artwork. Three artists hail from the port city of Puerto Plata. But there are also works of a visual artist from Sos?a exhibited! It is the well-known painter and sculptor Teddy Tejeda from Sos?a from whom 32 drawings are displayed at the exhibition. It is a great honor for Teddy, but also for Sos?a, that an artist from this small resort town, is present at such an impressive and important exhibition.
The Bienal is open every day from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on Friday until 10:00 PM. The Museum of Modern Art is located in the Avenida Pedro Henr?quez Ure?a, Plaza de la Cultura Juan Pablo Duarte.
The exhibition is on display until 17 November.
