We are heading to Cabarete for a month with 2 young kids for my husbands work. We have visited the North coast numerous times, but this will be our longest stay. Any suggestions for a 3 year old and 1 year old?

ditto what dv8 said. Every year we lose a few good money spending tourists to the ocean in Cabarete.

Dv8 is 100% correct, but all the beaches on the North Coast can have rip currents and strong currents in general. Make sure you know the beach where you swim. Sosua's main beach has a reef and is imho is one of the safest on the N.C. Enjoy your stay!

if you fancy a trip to sosua there is a place called sosua ocean village with pools, restaurant and a kiddie area with slides and various toys. it also has an onsite spa so you can relax while hubby gets to care for the kids.
further west, in POP, there is ocean world, a small park with various attractions like tigers, birds and animal shows. they also have slides. check for their offers, sometimes a deal is to be had. entry includes shows and a lunch, attractions like swimming with dolphins cost extra.

the kids are 1 and 3 years old.
an empty carton from the supermarket will keep them busy for a week.

Take them to Monkey Jungle. My grandson of 3,5 years is still talking about it a year after we went there.
