Whenever someone asks for advice about improving security where they live, security cameras are sure to be suggested. I've suggested them myself. But I've been thinking about them and wondering how much of a benefit they really are.
They don't prevent intrusion, they don't protect you or your property from an intruder.
What they do, maybe, is to give you a look at who did you or your property harm.
But then what? What are the Dominican police going to do with the information obtained from the video?
Has anyone had an experience where intruders were photographed by a security camera and the police used the info from the camera to make an arrest and get a conviction?
Has anyone had an experience where they got photos on the camera and nothing was done with
the information?
