Exactly my point. As I mentioned, Voxer users were once WhatsApp users and switched. Just curious is one that much better than the other. The ones I know in the DR using WhatsApp I can't ask cause they have never tried Voxer.
MSN Messenger was around for like 12 years. It worked. Many others worked better. Up until the time Microsoft decided to shut down messenger for Skype, Messenger was king. Why? because everybody had messenger, not because it was better.
Windows has been around for almost 30 years, and while other OS could have been better, they could never steal enough users from Windows, because people wanted to have the OS most people had in order to share documents, apps, etc.
Whatsapp appeared when chat was moving from computers to cell phones. Folks at Blackberry and Apple were stupid enough to limit ther IM apps to their own devices, not allowing other OS to use them. And along came Whatsapp to fill that void. Everybody around the world is using Whatsapp as preferred IM. Things might change in the future, but more than a "better" app is going to be needed, something external to the app itself needs to happen in order to force people to adopt another app. Whatsapp decision to eventually charge for the use could be one reason, but I don't think they'll end up doing it.
