CANADA 3000 optimistic with future bookings

TORONTO, Oct. 16 /CNW/ - CANADA 3000 INC. has applied to the Canadian
Government for a loan guarantee due to concerns with projecting cash flow at
current revenue levels, and to ensure that the company is able to weather this
unpredictable time. Like all travel-related industries, CANADA 3000 has
experienced a serious downturn in booking levels since September 11th,
however, business is returning to normal levels, with bookings for December
already up by 9%, January by 4%, February by 12% and March up 38%.

CANADA 3000 is working closely with the Federal Government, which has
been kept fully aware, on a weekly basis, of progress since September 11th.
The Minister of Transport, Mr. Collenette, and his officials, today are
actively reviewing CANADA 3000's application for loan guarantees. The Federal
Government is well aware of the importance of maintaining Canada's major air
services in a period of war and continental emergency.

"CANADA 3000 has taken dramatic action to reduce expenses, and is working
hard to ensure ongoing viability, and fully expects to be able to continue to
offer Canadians excellent value air transportation long into the future", says
Angus Kinnear, President.

CANADA 3000 is Canada's second largest scheduled airline, with operating
bases from coast to coast in 21 of Canada's major cities. CANADA 3000 serves
more than 100 destinations worldwide, with a global route structure extending
from Sydney, Australia to Mumbai, India. CANADA 3000 employs 4,400 staff and
is a publicly traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker
symbol "CCC". Reservations on CANADA 3000 can be made by calling
1-888-3000-669 in North America or on-line at www.canada3000.com.
