I would be in your debt if anyone could tell me about this green. I have seen it often in Supermerardo National and it looks like a very hearty green. Does anyone know of this plant and has a recipe? Will it stand on its own as an entree or perhaps served with a soup or a caserole? Thanks in advance. I have heard that it is simular to Swiss Chard which is ( my opinion) is a very delicate.

Yes - I love it - it is like Swiss chard or bok choy.
I use it as if it were spinach - it has a slightly different taste and much less slimy texture - in curries and soups.

Moroccan style chard
Steam the chard, drain and set aside. Sizzle some ground cumin and sweet paprika in hot olive oil. Add a couple of cloves of garlic, finely chopped. Make sure it doesn't burn. Add the chard and cook for a few minutes, add salt and juice of one lemon/lime. Serve warm or cold as a side dish or salad.

And one of my national dishes: Torta de acelga
