Why, did she miss out on an ecstasy binge around Europe thinking she'd be flagged at another test?

Nope, you just get tested the once and I don't even think 10% of those are tested as I've never met anyone who failed on it, but lots of people who say they take drugs, lol, go figure!

Lets just say she has been in a HUGE AMOUNT OF PAIN for the last 4 months and we are from Vancouver where there is a certain pain management that has helped her. I am going to sleep in the Casita tonight!! The pain management here is pretty much non existant for people used to HUGE amounts of pain. I am so in the DOG HOUSE!!!!!!

It's all your fault, you have abused your Mrs, inflicted pain on her, shame on you.

Harley, I hope that when you and your wife travel to Vancouver for the Christmas
holiday she will be able to get some good pain medication.

I am so sorry to hear that she's in such excruciating pain.

MA is correct, the requirements change all the time. this is why i am not worried. my residency is good until 2016. it's a loooong time in terms of new legislation that pop out in here more often than genital warts on porn star's coochie. plus 2016 is the election year so i expect there will be some more adjustments either in the spring or in late summer (just before and just after elections).

For those who are just starting the process, it seems that there is now a requirement that they must have a medical exam in the country of origin, apostilled, translated into Spanish.. Embassy of the Dominican Republic, in the United States seems that the requirements change every year!

I had it done here in Santiago in Union Medica, scanned it and sent it to the person who took our papers to the Consulate, so it's not strictly true I guess

And this is the reason why I won't be applying any time soon. Ill wait till they come to me

Im not sure who it was that did all the math with the costs of getting residency versus the costs of paying your exit fees and it was about the same and no headaches and run around. Of course without the residency we are losing out on all the benefits....remind me again what they are

As for the tourist visa....from Canada it is almost always included in the cost of your tickets. Has anyone with residency tried to get the costs of the visa refunded to them?

i will renew my residency for sure. i do not travel that often and paying upon leaving would be too much. not interested in dominican passport either, that's a downgrade for me. but i am not stressed about residency requirements. they will change few times before 2016. and surely in 2016 something is bound to happen as well, it's election year. new legislations will pour in, regardless of who's the winner.

In any case if I ever need to get legal here I could go direct to citizenship I think. I have a daughter with Dominican mom.
