I love the eggs over here but couldn't get my usual brand so bought some different ones.

Are they feeding the chickens limestone?
Normally a light tap with a teaspoon or back of the knife suffices to crack 'em neatly but after this lot my cutlery drawer looks like Yuri Geller dropped by!

Practically needed a jackhammer to get at the goodies on these puppies! (Chicks?)
I'm going to use the shells for building material.

I mean, No J(Y)o(l)ke! I know many surprising things turn out to be concrete here in the DR but giving the pollos cement is not justified.

Anyone else noticed this ova re-inforcement?

i have only noticed that with eggs form the campo. especially duck/geese eggs. dang, opening them is a challenge. but they are super tasty. so maybe you accidentally bought eggs from some smaller, more "natural" producer?

Sounds like they were from Guinea Fowl. The eggs are known for being like rocks. Guinea Fowl are better foragers than chickens and tolerate heat well, but they only lay a few clutches a year.
