Google Maps is misidentifying where this restaurant is as I'm told its in Cofresi. Can someone tell me how far the Ocean World Casino is from this restaurant? Friend strongly recommended we dine at Los Tres Cocos rather than at the restaurant at Ocean World.

In Puerto Plata head towards Cofresi, after passing the free zone on the right hand side of the road you will see a sign that says Cabanas. Take a right at the sign then take your first left. You will find Tres Cocos a little ways up on your right. Please note there is slot of foliage in front, so look for cars.

“Los tres cocos” is actually a very nice place. The owner Miky is from Austria and he is an excellent cook.
The restaurant is not very big and I would recommend that you make a reservation - especially on weekends or close to Christmas.

Somebody said something about “not eating salmon in The Dominican republic”.. Well, I also prefer salmon from Norway - lol.. However you get a pretty okay salmon at Price Smart - boneless and skinless - one whole side of the fish - vacuum packed and frozen.
If you prepare the fish with “love” it actually turns into a nice dish..
But I also know, that many restaurants here have a terrible salmon with the wrong taste and wrong texture… I guess it was frozen around 10 times… At “Los tres cocos” the salmon is okay - maybe not from Norway - but absolutely right.

Los Tres Coco's is a very nice place for something special! The food is fresh, tasty, and plentiful. The service takes time, highly recommend a reservation unless you are dining early. Also important to note; closed on Tuesday and is a cash only operation, no credit cards accepted. It is well worth the trip!
