I see some of these posts on the topic I found are outdated. I am traveling to Santiago in Feb, can someone please recommend a hotel for me to stay in. The 50- 60 dollar price range would be best. I want to be in short distance of whatever there is to see and any bars, rests or dance clubs. A cab rides distance would be fine. Thank you very much.

Nice hotel, not five star or anything but a nice place to stay. I don't remember the prices but I remember paying maybe $60-$80/night but then again I had 3 kids with me. And also our last stay there was about 2 years ago. Call and check the prices.

The Hotel Jardines is located in an area surrounded by eateries and some of the new "in" places. It is within walking distance to good places to have breakfast, lunch or dinner.
And a major casino is close by.
You can call 809 276 8222 and make a reservation. They have wi-fi and do offer free breakfasts.

You cam PM me for any more info.

There are also 2,000 RD Pesos and 2,500 RD Pesos rooms available too. Roughly $48 - 58. They are basic rooms. I recently booked the $2,500 room. It includes a king sized bed or 2 queens and breakfast for that price. It is best to call them to make a reservation versus using their online booking. They can give you a better deal by phone.

I have stayed in both (Aloha Sol last Nov. 73.00USD and Jardine in Dec. for 84.00USD with a good hot breakfast included) I would definitely prefer Jardine for many reasons including room size, quiet, great service etc. Nothing against Aloha with exception of very small room, but I felt Jardine excelled

The hotel Colonial is located in the heart of the shopping and commercial district of Santiago, across the street from the central bus (gua gua) stop, and just a short walk to the Monument, Cathedrals, restaurants, casinos, banks and money exchange. The Santiago International Airport is just a short cab ride away.

he 67 rooms are housed in two adjacent buildings - Hotel Colonial and Colonial Deluxe.
Each room has its own color television and bathroom with shower.

Restaurant(s)
The restaurant of the hotel Colonial serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with local market fresh food and prepared in the typical Dominican style.

The Deluxe is better, the other building was kind of run down the cost was 1200 pesos at the deluxe

Is there any hotel that is central to everything for those prices. Trying not to not take a cab too much. Something close to clubs, shopping and restaurants. I will going to book Ahola but is there anything close to it other than the Casino?

Matum is closest to Monumento area with restaurants and bars (walking distance) and 2 nightclubs on property and casino (Pure and a smaller club that is entered from the parking area). That Said, I prefer the area around Bella Terra Mall with bars and clubs ( Level and Soho, Mojito bar), a cab fare away and more upscale. Depends if you want a more "local" or "upscale" night out. No walking Distance hotel to Bella Terra Mall comes to mind. Other clubs like Dubai and Sahara and Vicci Room and Lovera Bar are spread around.
