I don’t know where you are living… I had several implants done in Santiago a few years ago. Doctor Juan Alonso Genau has a Dental Clinic in Jardines Metropolitana.
He is a specialist in implants . I have been very pleased with his work. Very professional and the Clinic is really US - and/or European standard. Price per implant: 800 US
You might be able to get it cheaper, however I am definitely not playing around with something as serious as in implant. They can destroy the nerves in your face if they don’t do it right..

Look for threads on Dental Cibao, plenty of DR1 posters use them with excellent results, including myself.

One thing I wonder about is if you are able to get around after the surgery without assistance. Is it like getting a root canal or more like getting your wisdom teeth out? Would someone be able to drive afterwards?

These day's implants can be 100% painless and in same cases, completed in the same day.
Yes, you can drive, go about your daily business etc.

Think of it like a hair cut, with a little anesthesia thrown in :)

Had it done. That all depends on what type of anesthetic was used, local or some type of whole body in the vein. There is no way you can drive with the latter. It take a good 12-24hrs to completely wear off.

Most implants will only require a local anesthetic.

I was fine after the implant surgery but I wouldn't drive, even though I had local anesthetic. I was a little wobbly, even though the procedure was totally painless. They are putting a screw into your jaw bone.

I was out for two days after getting my wisdom teeth out. I think it's the pulling out the remnants that is the hardest on you. I might get the preliminary work done in the US. The nearest place for CEREC is over 50 miles away and god only knows what they charge up here for it~ $2500 a tooth? More?

I went to a Dominican dentist on Charles DG and got two front ceramics installed for RD18000. Good job, but you need to be a little hardened to typical dominican standards.

I had to get preliminary work done to grow more bone tissue where the old crown root had eaten away. Everyone is a different story and different dentists have different approaches.

a while ago i had root extraction and immediate bridge work afterwards. local anesthetics only. it was a joyful experience and i walked home afterwards. i would have been able to drive. but people react to such procedures differently. i would take a taxi if i were you, just in case.

Dental implants are a permanent solution for replacing teeth.Dental implants are stable and secure, giving you the ability to eat and chew normally. My grandmother had Dental implants and now she can chew normally as we do.

I can also add my name to the list of happy customers from dental cibao.

I had the 'full on four' lower implants............lots of visits, had the implants put in and then left for four months to bed in, then the bar was made and eventually the teeth made and all installed. It was a long drawn out procedure but that is a good thing, as it was done properly. It is six months since the work was finished and i am due to go back for check up.

It has made a huge difference in my confidence. I can munch on anything now.......

I am very very happy looking back at my treatment, for the investment in money and time was returned tenfold in how i look and feel now.

My case was a difficult one for the guys at dentalcibao, and as such they use my case in their teachings in colombia. feel free to pm me for any more info.

I'm pleased everything went well for you. If you don't mind me asking, What where the costs associated with the overall procedure? I usually get dental work done in Puerto Rico for insurance reasons, but I've heard good things about this dental clinic.

the cost depend on acrylic teeth or porcelain........i took the acrylic at a cost of 8500 dollars, may be more this year i don't know but what i do know is whatever you pay is nothing compared to the joy of being 'normal' again.....
