I don’t know where you are living… I had several implants done in Santiago a few years ago. Doctor Juan Alonso Genau has a Dental Clinic in Jardines Metropolitana.
He is a specialist in implants . I have been very pleased with his work. Very professional and the Clinic is really US - and/or European standard. Price per implant: 800 US
You might be able to get it cheaper, however I am definitely not playing around with something as serious as in implant. They can destroy the nerves in your face if they don’t do it right..

Look for threads on Dental Cibao, plenty of DR1 posters use them with excellent results, including myself.

One thing I wonder about is if you are able to get around after the surgery without assistance. Is it like getting a root canal or more like getting your wisdom teeth out? Would someone be able to drive afterwards?

These day's implants can be 100% painless and in same cases, completed in the same day.
Yes, you can drive, go about your daily business etc.

Think of it like a hair cut, with a little anesthesia thrown in

Had it done. That all depends on what type of anesthetic was used, local or some type of whole body in the vein. There is no way you can drive with the latter. It take a good 12-24hrs to completely wear off.

Most implants will only require a local anesthetic.

I was fine after the implant surgery but I wouldn't drive, even though I had local anesthetic. I was a little wobbly, even though the procedure was totally painless. They are putting a screw into your jaw bone.

I was out for two days after getting my wisdom teeth out. I think it's the pulling out the remnants that is the hardest on you. I might get the preliminary work done in the US. The nearest place for CEREC is over 50 miles away and god only knows what they charge up here for it~ $2500 a tooth? More?
