Default 3 thousand more troops on the street by next week

General: Up to 3,000 more troops in street patrols by next week

Santo Domingo.- As many as 3,000 troops will join street patrols in cities across the country as early as next week, aimed at providing more security for the population.

Armed Forces and Police Joint Command Coordinator Ruben Paulino made the announcement Monday, and affirmed that the measure was taken after analyzing the results of the National Citizen Security Plan, at a meeting at National Police headquarters today.

The official called the results of the public safety plan “satisfactory so far” and revealed that the operation’s statistics will be released soon.
