guaguas run their routes on Sunday. And, as far as I know, all night. But there are fewer in the night and the price is, I believe, RD$5 more than in the day.

Go in a publico, way faster and around the same price......50 pesos sosua - gaspar hernandez, change to another publico, and another 50 pesos to rio san juan.....they run everyday of the week

go in style -
grab the Samana/las Terranas bus and ask to get off at RSJ.... should be about 1/3 of the Samana price

Note: They do not run all night most of the drivers are back in RSJ by 6pm. You asked about Sunday please keep in mind that Sunday is a bad day to travel after a certain hour.

Guaguas stop running at 6pm, but there is always the carrito publico that runs 24 hours. Nocturno transport after 6pm, costs a few pesos more from Rio San Juan to Sosua at night but still available.......

You are right. Should have made clear that at night he would have to take the publico.
