We are looking for 30 candidates in the Punta Cana tourist zone and areas way beyond with missing hands to participate in a prosthesis operative.

Hospital General El Buen Samaritano, La Romana, is organizing a free medical operative for hand prosthetics on/about the 2nd week of April; the details are still in the works. This is a joint collaboration with the local Rotary International Clubs and visiting US doctors from Portland, Maine. The operative will provide a free hand shaped prosthesis for those candidates accepted for the program.

The operative will be over a two day period with 15 candidates for each day, 30 in total. The requirements are: the candidates have missing hands; there should be at least 7-8 inches, 20 centimeters of remaining forearm from the elbow; and must be age 13 and over.

The doctors will take measurements and create molds of forearms. They will make the prosthetic devices to be fitted to the clients.

If you know of anyone or meet someone who needs this service please make them of this aware of this future operative.

When information arrives regarding the Punta Cana location, day, and time of the operative, it will be posted.

Send a PM if you have more questions.

Regards,

PJT
