What is purple poi, as is a staple in Hawaii called in Spanish? There is yautia lila, but that is only purplish around the sides. I haven't seen anything like poi in the DR. In Hawaiian supermarkets, they sell it frozen in plastic. It looks like purple pudding. I think they call it taro there, but taro is also a whitish root, like Dominican yautia.
