Can anyone tell me what kind of internet is available in the los Cerros neighborhood above Charimicos?

Specifically costs and speeds?

We have Claro in Los Cerros for 2 years now. Had to pay a few favors to get a free line but very happy. Speed tests from 7 to 8mb/s. Not one outage ever. No slowdowns. Live modem stats show line is capable of around 21mb/s - very high quality for here. Cost is around $3500/mo and includes digital Claro TV, two receivers, telephone, and 800 minutes free international calling although for the speed that was a special double your internet offer for free at one time.

It cost a few extra pesos to the installers under the table to go from Claro "Unamazing" service to Claro "Marvelous", but with the free upgrade we now have Claro "Fabulous". Looking at the pricing plans we are going to see if Claro "Stupendous" or "Mind-Blowing" plans are available as scheduled this summer in Los Cerros.

It does look like Los Ceros is the best place in Sosua to live at. Not sure why OP has problems.

OP did not say he had any problems in Los Cerros he simply asked what internet service was available in Los Cerros.

Service from companies here wax and wane overtime. A few years back near Ayuntamiento for a business Claro 1MB was great. Then deteriorating lines caused enough interference to make it nearly unusable. DeLancer's service was a big improvement. Then as happens with cable they oversold it and since with cable you're sharing with everyone on the same hub the service became terribly slow. Back to Claro again after our good service here and 3MB to 6MB is fine at the same place it was horrible before. So there's no one answer sometimes here.

In Los Cerros a lot of the beautiful large houses may have had phone lines at one time, but have sat empty for many years, and even though those lines probably aren't in use when we bought a house to rehab here we were told there were no lines available. When we finally got someone to help they laid new lines to the house, maybe all the way down to the box at CaribeTours, I wouldn't be surprised. The next-door-neighbor though still complained of staticky lines.

Our service is great.

Your mileage may vary.

Sometimes it all depends on who you know here as always.
