Hola, are there any places close to Santo Domingo to go horseback riding and take lessons? I have been going to Jarabacoa for weekends and love to take my leisure time riding a horse on the back trails. Is anything like this closer to SD.

There used to be a couple of small tour companies offering horseback riding in Juan Dolio. They rode along the beach and also took trips to La Romana to ride along the Cumayasa (sp?) river.
Maybe someone in Juan Dolio with more recent knowledge can help you out.

For lessons there are several places. The Feria Ganadera on Malecon has several instructors for different disciplines. You also have Escuderia Ieromazzo, Las Colinas, Nitram and Palmarejo which are more formal riding schools from what I remember. Most have FB pages or websites.
