Metro line two
They just moved the tunnel drill into position to start the digging last month. I would say no sooner
than the middle of 2016.
Tunnels that will not collapse in an earthquake or flood in a hurricane, stations, new drainage system, new cable-stayed bridge spanning over the Ozama river and will be one of the largest bridges of its kind in the Caribbean (DR probably has more cable-stayed bridges than any other place in the region)... not quite so simple and this isn't even half of what will be done.
The line two of the Metro was completed in 2013 and has been running since then. This is just an EXTENSION that is currently being constructed to include additional stations.
A third extension will eventually be included. Also talks are in the making to add a third line. In total there will be 6 lines added to the Metro.
