Does anyone know where I can take A Spanish language intensive course?

Are there any schools in Santo Domingo?

I live in Santiago
I have been using ALPI in Santiago. Very good.

I have used CLI in Cabarete too. Not as good.

I could not tell from your post if SD was a requirement. Forgive me if it was.

There are excellent computer programs. Get one that allows you to record your voice and compare it with a native speaker, Rosetta Stone and Berlitz are overpriced. Check out Ebay and Craigs list for used programs. Check out the reviews on Amazon and elsewhere. Practice on the computer one or two hours per day, and then get out and talk to people. An Uruguyan friend of mine came here knowing no English and put an ad in the paper, "free Spanish lessons". He partnered with several locals who wanted to learn Spanish and they spent half the session speaking each language. He was fluent enough in six months to start a business fixing TVs and VCR's (this was in the late '70's).
