MORE,..."GOOD NEWS" For The DR!!!!!!............."Babies Having Babies"!!!!!!!!

The banner headline in today's "Diario Libre" newspaper tells of thousands of young Dominican girls giving birth in the hospitals here.
They range in age from 16, down to "10 YEARS OLD"!!!!!!
"10"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????????
The article goes on to say that many have no place to live, and are, "In The Streets".
Quote:,..."Many go on to a life of prostitution, drug addiction, alcoholism and other "Males".
Nowhere in the entire article are the abusers who impregnated the girls mentioned.
AND, notable for it's absence, is that anything is being done by the Catholic church.
"Duh"!
"Go Forth And MULTIPLY" to them means to have "BABIES", apparently as soon as biologically possible!
Maybe, if "Go Forth And MULTIPLY" meant "Learn "Math" in school", things could be different!
AND, where were the "Baby Mami's & Papi's" when these girls were getting "Screwed", in Soooooooooooo MANY WAYS????
At least Dr1's "Pope Of Santiago" must take this as "GREAT NEWS"!!!!!

education is the key. and i am not talking only about the access to info about contraception but rather proper biological info on how and when a woman can get pregnant and classes on reproductive system in general. knowledge is the key.

These kids know about the birds and the bees, they see it all the time at home or where ever they are.
It's the frikking education they receive at home which is none!!!!!!
Being told by their mothers that when they give up the popola that at least they get something for it, it's the frikking culture here!!!!

It is not good at all that the men or boys that impregnated these girls are even mentioned, never mind that most will never pay even one peso of child support because of the screwed up way things work.
And then, it does highlight the additional problems that many families never properly teach these children anything, especially that having children as children is not good - and even the church would normally be making some kind of statement that at least they should be abstaining from having sex.
I believe children (boys and girls) should be taught more about sex and what real relationships are. But, education is part of the battle and takes time for a generation to learn. During the transition, there needs to be a lot more availability of birth control and condoms - and strong encouragement that condoms and birth control are good and necessary to use.

That they know only about having having sex - and not anything else - is a big part of the problem for many here, not just the children having sex. I find it very strange when people in the DR (not necessarily on DR1) talk about someone having a baby as such a great thing, when the reality is that they can not even afford to support themselves, never mind adding a child - even if the novio and novia stayed together, they still can not afford one child - but I have seen many young men in the 20s in the DR that already have several children and sometimes several children with different young ladies... So there is a lot of education needed.
I understand that there are many Dominican men that only make 20,000-30,000 pesos a month (or less) - but if it was required that they had to pay at least 5,000-10,000 pesos per month for EACH child as child support, then I guarantee that condoms and birth control would get popular very fast!!

"MJS" there IS "Birth Control" available in EVERY pharmacy in this Country!!!!!!
They even GIVE you SEVERAL condoms when you rent a "Cabana"!
"You Can Lead A Horse To Water, But You CAN'T Make HIM drink"!!!!!!!!
Meaning, "Macho Dominicanos, DON'T USE Condoms!
Even when they are FREE!!!!!
I think that Dominican girls should be given "Free Implants" when they are 9 years old.
"Implants" are 5 tiny silicon tubes inserted under the skin of the upper arm through a needle.
They give 5 years of "Protection" from getting pregnant.
They are CHEAP, a few dollars!
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooor, a free vasectomy as a birthday present for "Dominicanos", when they are 10!!!!!!
Prosecute the "Males" for statutory rape.
Having sex with a 10 year old girl IS RAPE!!!!!!
CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
Believe me "MJS" when these guys are raping these girls, they are NOT worried about having to be ordered to support the mother or especially the child!
The "Choice" has to be removed from the equation!
If they CAN conceive, they WILL conceive. :bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny::bunny:

Another issue with the Dominican male logic is that a vasectomy will never be under consideration. They believe that a vasectomy is just as bad as what occurred to John Wayne Bobbitt. Typical Dominican machoism.

met a guy this week who was on vacation from the Turks and Caicos. he was telling me that he met some lady whom he befriended, and who invited him to her home. he met her young daughter, all of 17 years old, and struck up a conversation with her. later on, the mother gave him the high five, telling him;

"i see you are interested in my daughter; she is a nice girl"

how can you fix this?

Tener un hijo es la bendicion del Dios!!!! That's the fukked up way of thinking here!!!!
When I left here late 2010 about a year later my ex told me that her daughter of 13 wanted to get "married" with a 22 year old. I said WTF you're not gonna allow that!!!
Her answer was that God will lead her, yeah right!!
Now she's 16 and has a 15 month old baby!!!! The father makes RD6000 per month working in a colmado.
That's the reason I had to return here to make sure that my daughter wasn't gonna end up the same way.
Here it is " Monkey see, monkey do!!!!!

It's the women here that cause these problems, how to fix it?
I have some ideas but even I know that these wouldn't work here. :ermm:

I do agree that if the man is over 18 and impregnates a girl under age, then he should be prosecuted for rape!! - because, yes, that is the only way they will learn!!! I am in complete agreement with you on this!!!!

As for condoms being available and nobody using them, even in proper dating relationships, because that is the "macismo way" - that is something that needs to change in the DR in normal dating - but it probably will not, because presently dominicanos seem to have no fear financial burden (or even STDs).

Your being around to help her understand and learn is going to be a big help in her life!!!!! Good on you!

A 22 year with a 13 year old is sick! But I am guessing he never got prosecuted - and at 6000/month, he is not even supporting the child

They live together and I must say he does everything possible for his son but with his wage he doesn't even have to wipe his behind

Wise words from a wise man. This should be told to all the girls here

Muhammed Ali's advice to his daughters...
An incident transpired when Muhammad Ali’s daughters arrived at his home wearing clothes that were quite revealing.

Here is the story as told by one of his daughters:
“When we finally arrived, the chauffeur escorted my younger sister, Laila, and me up to my father’s suite. As usual, he was hiding behind the door waiting to scare us.
We exchanged many hugs and kisses as we could possibly give in one day.

My father took a good look at us. Then he sat me down on his lap and said something that I will never forget. He looked me straight in the eyes and said, “Hana, everything that God made valuable in the world is covered and hard to get to. Where do you find diamonds? Deep down in the ground, covered and protected.
Where do you find pearls? Deep down at the bottom of the ocean, covered up and protected in a beautiful shell.

Where do you find gold? Way down in the mine, covered over with layers and layers of rock. You've got to work hard to get to them.”

He looked at me with serious eyes. “Your body is sacred. You’re far more precious than diamonds and pearls, and you should be covered too.” From the book: More Than A Hero: Muhammad Ali's Life Lessons Through His Daughter's Eyes.

fear of financial burden is occasioned by the ability to see past the moment, and envision possible outcomes. sadly, the rank and file here do not possess that ability. the same can be said about people the world over, but it is raised to the level of high science here. that is why guys overtake around blind corners. the possibilities do not register on their thinking.

That pretty much sums it up.
