Mother's Day (May 25 in the Dominican Republic) is a special day!
The nonprofit organization 3 Mariposas Montessori hopes to award twenty-five mothers, from the very poor neighborhood, La Cienage in Cabarete, with scholarships for their children to attend school for an entire year. In 2013, donors gave $ 26,000 for the scholarships to provide the children with good bilingual (Spanish and English) education. Besides education the children receive daily lunch, medical care and free teaching resources. For the school year 2014, the school organization raised their goal to $30,000 to extend the opportunity to more mothers and their children in the poor neighborhood of Cienaga who would otherwise not have access to early childhood education.
Donations can be made in honor or memory of a special mom in your life. Share her love and achievements by helping another mother.
