With support from Animales En Peligro Puerto Plata - Their leader Stephanie Kluke.

The early Parasite clinics on 10th and 17th May in Charamicos, Marananta and Bella Vista were a great success and people could also pre- register their animals for the Spay/Neuter Clinic. Some of these areas have had no help in the past and will now become one of the new Outreach areas supported by the AAASosua.
The benefits are not only to the local community ,but also to the image of Sosua and Charamicos in the eyes of the Tourist as well as the welfare of the dogs and cats.
Leading the World Vets team was Dr Rhonda Aliah, who has owned a practice for 30 years and now is a Zoo Veterinarian and relief Vet!
The team has13 members and 5 Veterinarians some of whom have been on several World Vets missions before. Dr Mike Henes commented that is was a luxury having Iso Anaesthetics and the AAASosua knowledgeable and trained volunteers.

AAASosua was working with Animales en Peligro and Stephane Kluke was at the first day bringing animals from Puerto Plata. Stephanie has been working with animals in the Dominican Republic for 4 years now but was originally from Canada.

A large number of pets were signed up and some of the animals were anxious and others comforted by their owners.

The extent of these field operatives can only be appreciated from a picture. Four operating tables have been prepared and three are in use with the fourth being readied for the patient!

Many donations have been received from World Vets bringing medicines and pharmaceuticals, GARF for donating dog food and John Bommarito for transportation. More donations are always needed to ensure that AAASosua can carry on the work that it does.
Thank you all for the generous contributions that have help these animals, the people of the north coast but above all the animals!

There are two more days , the 24th and 25th so there is still an opportunity for more pets to be looked after.
