Tall Ships

I posted this in the Santo Domingo page but thought it should get wider coverage.

The tall ships are in Santo Domingo now tied up just down stream from the floating bridge down to where the ferry to Puerto Rico docks. There were five this evening and they are very impressive. Free to look at and traffic wasn't too bad. I believe they will be here for a couple more days. Worth a look, for sure, if you are any where near the area ! !

They are amazing for sure. Not sure about SD, but most times they have tours for a price of course and allow small groups to go aboard and look around. Its a pretty cool tour. Being that hurricane season is upon us, they are headed north to the states. By mid summer they will be docked in Chicago at Navy Pier.

See the tall ships from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico as they unfold their sails off the Malec?n in Santo Domingo, after participating in a regatta circumnavigating the South American to cross through the Panama Canal to the Caribbean. They will be mooring at the Port of Santo Domingo, Don Diego Terminal, and can be visited on:
Sunday 1 from 4-10pm
Monday 2 from 9am to 12 noon and 2pm to 10pm.
Tuesday 3 from 9am to 12 noon and 2pm to 10pm.
A series of events being held to coincide with their visit includes concerts by leading popular musical performers in the evenings.
