I live in Santiago
I am going to Cabrera to 4 days and I am looking for an inexpensive place (<50 per night) a/c not necessary, pool good but not necessary. Clean and safe necessary. One person. Close to restaurants good.

Please post your recommendations. Thanks, Tom

Yeah, i would only stay at La Catalina. It's got everything you need and the grounds are beautiful!

I stop there a lot just to eat and have coffee. But it's not near anything. It's far from town. But if you have transportation, you'll be fine.

A few minutes away in Rio San Juan is a decent option - Hotel Bahia Blanca. Nothing fancy but good sized rooms, right on the ocean and under $50/night with breakfast. There are several restaurants within walking distance, but you'd need a car or taxi to get to Cabrera.

Bahia Blanca also has great sunsets from the deck. Has anyone stayed at Hotel Abreu? Looks nice...wife went in to use the bathroom

looks clean doesn't it?

I live in the area so don't know the hotels well... but that Abreu hotel seems like a good one....
I'd still go Bahia Blanca.... more activity all day/nite

Abreu is pretty quiet....

Looked at some photos at Trip Advisor for Bahia Blanca. The pillows and mattress they had would be a deal breaker, even at $30 a night. Could be a really nice place with better housekeeping.

well............. it is a little 'over worked' after these years.... but the view and location and price are good.

anyone with some $$$ can buy it -- owner is pretty old and wants out

Pretty quiet is an understatement....I sent the OP an option for Cabrera if he needs to be there.

We were at the Bahia Blanca a few years ago and would not go back unless I brought my own pillow. Also the power was out for a few hours. But the location and view more than make up for these inconveniences.

PMed the OP with options in downtown Cabrera for under $50 a night. No pool for under $50 but Hotel Mirador does have a pool for around $60 - 70.

I wonder what their terms are...

I have heard $1M.... but that number appears everywhere..... everybody's dream number

It does have real potential..... excellent in many ways, or would be , after a refurb

Would make a great 'Gay Get-a-way'.... they're the rage these days

Right. Spend another $500K on it and it will be worth $1M, so sell it for $1M. I've seen that kind of math before.
