Claro DSL internet problem tonight?

My Claro DSL Internet has been non-working for the past hour. Modem is connected and IP address is received (resetting modem does not help) but modem still picks up IP address after reset.

Calls to 809-220-1111 and 809-220-1212 do not go through neither form Orange nor Claro line, cell nor fixed.

Do we have a major averia?

Anybody else experiencing this problems?

I am now tethering via my Orange data plan.

I started a thread just before you about the same problem. Looks like Claro has problems, I am also using Orange at the moment.

Same problem in Santo Domingo Zona Colonial, no Claro in two locations. We have been trying to call Claro and there is a recorded message saying "all circuits are busy". Nice to see a company when sells communications setting such a great example of how to talk to all its customers tonight. Claro, la red donde todo es posible. Not.

Not only dsl, also 3G and edge (in SD). DSL is back up now.

First thing I think is that there is some cable on the bottom of the sea that is our only connection to the internet, which is broken and will take month to fix.

yes, just came back here as well but for a moment all was dead: internet, house phone and even some mobile connections. scary.

Yep, here in Gurabo, Santiago the same problem. Probably their experts are inventing something new but run out of gas..

The only thing that never seems to stop working is the advertising, wherever you go you are bombarded by adverts telling you everything is possible with Claro. Surely nobody believes that?

Hmm. Averia? Strange that I had the same issue yesterday lasting for an hour and started at the same time...

Like a "trial" for the "Averia" today maybe? My guess is they are updating something or doing maintenance (of course at prime time...).

Same in La Romana. Been off line for several hours now, data on wireless works intermittently.

Just in via twitter. Claro says sorry, they fixed it, could be a little slow at first b/c of high traffic.
